School Fees


Skoolfooie 2019:

a)Skoolfooie is streng vooruit betaalbaar teen die eerste dag van elke maand en u kind kan geweier word indien skoolgeld nie teen die 10de van die maand betaal is nie.
 
b)Skoolfooie is oor 12 maande betaalbaar, al was u kind afwesig, siek of gedurende vakansietye.
 
c)Een kalendermaand kennis moet gegee word.  

Let wel, kennis kan nie vir Desember maand gegee word nie.  Dus, is die laaste maand wat kennis gegee kan word in ‘n jaar is vir Oktober (ie om einde Oktober die skool te verlaat).      

Skoolfooie sluit die volgende in:  
  1. Alle etes
  2. Skryfbehoeftes
  3. Bak en brou, kunsmateriaal
  4. Kinderkinetika wat aangebied word deur onafhanklike partye
  5. Musiek         
  6. Instappies      
  7. Skoolfooie en registrasie vir die jaar van toelating sal gedurende September van die voorafgaande jaar bekend gemaak word
      
Ouers/Voogde het die keuse om betalings òf maandeliks vooruit oor 12 maande òf eenmalig jaarliks vooruit (voor 28 Februarie) te maak.
Waar betalings jaarliks vooruit betaal word, kwalifiseer ouers/voogde vir afslag soos bekend gemaak sal word
             

Plasingsbeleid
  • Inskrywings en toewysings, tot ‘n spesifieke graad/klas, word verwerk volgens die kind se jaar van geboorte. Steppies (2-3 jaar, Gr RRR, RR en R) word ingedeel in die graad/klas van leerders wat in dieselfde jaar gebore is en word nie deur die loop van die jaar geskuif na ‘n volgende klas na sy/haar verjaardag nie, maar voltooi die jaar in die geboortejaar-groep.
  • Vir babas – 2 jaar sal kleuters na die volgende ouderdomsgroepies geskuif word na aanleiding van hulle emosionele en fisiese vordering.

Finansies
  • Daar word deur die loop van die jaar fondsinsamelings gehou wat gekoppel is aan nie- verpligte aktiwiteite. Hierdie aktiwiteite vorm nie deel van die formele kurrikulum nie, maar deelname deur leerders en hul ouers/voogde dra by tot die skep van ‘n samehorigheidsgevoel, opbou van goeie sosiale verkeer en interpersoonlike verhoudings. Deelname word sterk aanbeveel.
  • i. Die volgende fondsinsamelings en ander aktiwiteite word jaarlik saangebied (voorskool):
  • ii. Snoepie Vrydae - Alle fondse ingesamel word vir die spesifieke klas aangewend.
  • iii. Golfdag
  • iv. Ouma- en Oupadag
  • v. Konsert
  • vi. Familie/pretdag
  • vii. “Fotopakkette – klas en individueel.

  • Gimnastiek:
Gimnastiek deur Chris Botha R80.00 per maand

  • Junior Fun Skills:
Rugby en Netbal deur Renier Vos R120.00 per maand

Ons as onderwysers is bewus van die belangrikheid van groot- en fyn motoriese ontwikkeling, asook dat die kleuters van vandag nie meer
voldoende beweeg nie en daarom het ons ‘n spesialis program, Kinderkinetika in die skool wat op hierdie area fokus. ‘n Volledige assessering van u kleuter word gedoen en gemonitor om op hierdie manier moontlike leerprobleme kan voorkom.  Die program word gedurende skooltyd aangebied en is by skoolfooie ingesluit vir kleuters vanaf 1 jaar tot Gr RRR.

  • Abacus Wiskunde:                                           
Ons het die lisensie om hierdie gespesialiseerde wiskunde program by die skool aan te bied. Dit word naskool, weekliks deur ons eie Juffrou Patrys Milligan (Connelly str) en Juffrou Melandri Vos (Sett str) aangebied. Kleuters van die ouderdom 3 jaar kan aan die program deelneem.Wiskunde Program:

  • Step-Up Swemlesse/Swim School
30 minutes • R350 pm
Swemlesse word deur 'n gekwalifiseerde biokinetikus aangebied by die skool in Connelly straat. Vervoer beskikbaar.
Swimming lessons are done by a qualified biokineticist at our school in Connelly Road. Transport Available

Betalingsvoorwaardes en ander terme
 
  • Daar sal van ouers of wettige voogde, verantwoordelike persoon of borg van die leerder verwag word om aanspreeklikheid te aanvaar as hoofskuldenaar, alternatiewelik as medeskuldenaar gesamentlik en afsonderlik, vir die betaling van enige eis van Die Sentrum wat mag voortvloei uit dienste gelewer of gelewer staan te word aan sodanige leerder.
  • Aanvaarding sal skriftelik geskied op die meegaande vorm wat volledig voltooi en onderteken moet word alvorens die leerder(-s) tot Step-Up toegelaat sal word.
  • Alle betalings deur die ouer/voog/verantwoordelike persoon, sal gemaak word aan Step-Up sonder aftrekking of skuldvergelyking op die bepaalbare datum en sonder aanmaning.
  • Tensy skriftelik anders ooreengekom word:
  • i. sal betaling onmiddellik ingevolge bestaande toepaslike tariewe en pakkette verskuldig wees;
  • sal rente teen 2% per maand deur Step-Up gehef word ten opsigte van enige bedrag wat nie op die betaalbare datum deur die verantwoordelike persoon betaal word nie. Die rentebedrag sal op ’n daaglikse basis bereken word op die uitstaande bedrag verskuldig en sal gekapitaliseer word op die laaste dag van elke maand totdat die totale bedrag verskuldig, betaal is.
  • Twintig besigheidsdae nadat rente deur Step-Up gehef is op enige agterstallige bedrag, sal die onbetaalde bedrae waarop rente gehef is ’n Insidentele Ooreenkoms daarstel soos bedoel in die Wet op Nasionale Krediet, Wet 34 van 2005. Sodra hierdie Insidentele Ooreenkoms tot stand kom, is Step-Up geregtig om die volgende fooie en kostes te hef en in te vorder ten opsigte van sodanige Insidentele Ooreenkoms, op voorwaarde dat die fooie en kostes nie die toelaatbare maksimum in terme van die genoemde wet oorskry nie:  1. rente soos beskryf in paragraaf 2. wanbetalings-administrasiefooie synde ’n fooi wat Step-Up se administratiewe uitgawes dek wat aangegaan is weens die versuim om betyds te betaal;3. invorderingskostes, synde ‘n bedrag wat gehef mag word ten opsigte van die afdwinging van die skuld maar uitsluitende van administrasiefooie.
 
Kontrakbreuk
 
  • a) Sou die partye ’n Insidentele Ooreenkoms, soos hierbo beskryf, daarstel, en die verantwoordelike persoon is in versuim met sy betalings daarna, sal Step-Up:
  • Met dien verstande dat daar nog geen invorderingstappe geneem is nie, die wanbetaler skriftelik in kennis stel van die genoemde versuim en in terme van die Wet op Nasionale Krediet sal hy dan geregtig wees om die Insidentele Ooreenkoms na ’n alternatiewe dispuut-oplossingsagent, verbruikershof, of ombud met jurisdiksie te       verwys met die doel om enige dispuut op te los of om met ’n voorstel te kom oor hoe die betalings op datum gebring kan word.
  • Op sy eie diskresie voortgaan met gepaste regstappe indien die wanbetaler reeds 20 of meer besigheidsdae in gebreke gebly het om die Insidentele Ooreenkoms na   te kom en 10 dae verloop het sedert die stuur van die kennisgewing hierbo sonder dat die wanbetaler daarop gereageer het of die voorstelle in die kennisgewing         verwerp het.

School fees are payable strictly in advance on the first day of each month. Your child can be denied access to the school if fees are not paid by the 10th of the month.
School fees are payable over a 12-month period, even if your child is absent, ill or during holiday
One calendar month written notice must be given.

Important: Notice cannot be given for December. The last date which notice can be given is 1 October, which means your contract with us will end on 31 October. If not, you will still be charged a full month school fees for December.

School Fees include:
  • All stationary
  • Make and bake ingedients
  • Kinderkinetics
  • Music
  • “Instappies”
  • Fees for each year will be made available by September of the year prior to admission.
  • Parents/guardians have an option to make payments a month in advance over a period of 11 months OR once-off for the year (before February 28). Where payments are made upfront for the year, parents/guardians will qualify for a discount at a rate which will be announced annually.

Enrolment Fees
During the enrollment process, the following payments apply
  • Pre-school - A once-off payment as set out in c) per learner is required to finalize the entry. This amount forms part of the first monthly fee in the year of new admission.
  • Registration fees are determined as follows throughout the year:
  1. January - 31 June - R1000
  2. July 1st - September 30th - R750
  3. October - 31 December - R500

  • Grade R - A one-off payment of R1 800. This includes the following
  • Stationery package for Grade R
  • 1 set of school shirts
  • 1 school bag
  • 1 chair bag

  • Aftercare - A once off registration fee of R650 per learner is payable to finalize the registration. This fee is non-refundable and does not form part of the first month's fees.

  • If parents / guardians decide to cancel their child (s) subscription (s) after payment of the registration fee and confirmation of acceptance, the following arrangements apply for the refund of the registration fee:
  • Cancellation before 31 October of the year before admission: 100% of the registration fee is refundable.
  • Cancellation before 30 November of the year before admission: 50% of the registration fee is refundable.
  • Cancellation before 31 December of the year before admission: 25% of the registration fee is refundable.
  • Cancellation after the start of the new school year for which the child (ren) are enrolled: 100% of the enrollment fee is forfeited. The parent / guardian will also be held responsible for the payment of the full month's school fees, which is additionally due to the entry fee.

Cancellations
  • If parents/guardians wish to cancel their contract with Step-Up, one full calendar month’s written notification will be required.
  • Should parents/guardians decide to remove their child(-ren) from the school before the calendar month notice has concluded, they will still be liable for payment of school fees for the full month of notice.
  • If, in the interest of Step-Up, it becomes undesirable to render ongoing service(s) to a parent(s) or guardian(s) or child(-ren), it is the sole prerogative of Step-Up Management to suspend such services immediately. Where services are suspended by Step-Up, parents/guardians will only be held liable for payment of school fees until the date of cancellation.

Payment terms and other conditions
 
  • Parents/guardians/sponsors/responsible person(-s) of the learner will be expected to accept responsibility as main debtor, alternatively as co-debtor jointly and severally for the payment of any claim Step-Up might have flowing from the services rendered or to be rendered regarding the learner.
  • Step-Up will under no circumstances become involved in disputes with regard to maintenance orders and the non-payment of maintenance. Both responsible persons who accepted and signed the enrolment documentation, and therefore accepted financial responsibility for the payment of fees, will be held jointly responsible for outstanding fees or fees in arrears and will both be handed over when fees are handed over for collection.
  • Written acceptance of all conditions and stipulations will be required before a learner will be accepted at Step-Up.
  • Each payment made by the parent/guardian/sponsor will be made to Step-Up Pre-Primary of Private Academy without deduction or collation of debts and without reminders.
 
Except where agreed otherwise:
  • all payments will be payable in accordance with current tariffs and packages;
  • interest will be raised at 2% per month by Step-Up regarding any outstanding amount not paid on the due date by the responsible person. Interest on the outstanding amount will be calculated on a daily basis and will be capitalised on the last day of each month until such time as all outstanding amounts have been settled;
  • Twenty days after interest have been raised on outstanding amounts by Step-Up an Incidental Agreement as foreseen in the National Credit Act, Act 34 of 2005, shall be deemed to have come into effect and the following fees and costs may be added to the outstanding debt, and collected, with the provision that such fees and costs may not exceed the maximum allowed in term of the said Act:
 
§  interest as described in paragraph 216.b;
 
§  default administration charges, being a charge that may be imposed to cover administration costs incurred as a result of the debtor defaulting on an obligation; and;
 
§  collection costs, being an amount that may be charged in respect of the enforcement of the debtor’s monetary obligations, but which does not include default administration charges.
 
 

Fundraisers
 
During the year, Step-Up will have fund raisers which are linked to activities that are non-compulsory and do not form part of the formal curriculum. Participation by learners and parents/guardians is encouraged as it adds to a feeling of solidarity, builds social skills and facilitates interpersonal relationship building. Fees related to fund raising activities are not included in the normal school fees and must be paid separately at the office with a receipt
 
The following fund raisers and other activities are presented annually:
  • Tuck Shop Fridays – All funds raised are used by the respective class to buy educational toys and equipment as needed
  • Golfday
  • Grandma- and grandpa Day
  • Annual Concert
  • Family Fun Days
All funds generated through above fundraising activities are utilised for normal operating expenses, to the benefit of the learners and the School.
Should additional fundraising activities be approved for a specific purpose, funds raised will be dedicated to that specific purpose only.
 

Breach of Contract
 
Once an Incidental Credit Agreement has been formed, on the basis as described above, and the debtor defaults on his payments, Step-Up shall:
  • provided it has not enforced debt collection procedures, provide the debtor with a written notice of such default proposing that the debtor refer the Incidental Credit Agreement to an alternative dispute resolution agent, consumer court or ombudsman with jurisdiction, with a view to resolving any dispute under the Incidental Credit Agreement or agreeing on a plan to bring the payments due under the Incidental Credit Agreement up to date;
  • at its own discretion take appropriate legal action if the debtor is in default under the Incidental Credit Agreement for at least 20 (twenty) Business Days and at least 10 (ten) Business Days have elapsed since the delivery of the notice referred to in the clause above without the debtor responding to such notice or rejecting the proposals in such notice.
